Partey extension talks continue

Thomas Partey is out of contract at Arsenal this season, with his current deal set to end on June 30th.

Although the Ghanian has previously been linked away with a move, with Juventus and former club Atlético Madrid among the sides reported to have shown an interest ion him.

However, he could yet stay at the Emirates, with talks in progress over a new deal, and his agent was a special guest at the last home game of the season against Newcastle United.

A sticking point is his age and salary expectations. He will be 32 next month and is one of the highest earners at the club currently. This is likely to be his last major contract, and he will not want to see his wages cut substantially, whilst the club do not want to offer large sums to somebody over te age of 30, especially one with a chequered injury history.

Despite that, though, there is currently hope that a compromise can be reached before the deadline expires.
