Jack Harrison has returned to Leeds United upon the expiry of his loan deal with Everton this season.

Harrison has spent the past two seasons on loan with the Toffees after his parent club’s relegation to the Championship and subsequent stay there.

However, with his loan deal coming to an end and Leeds having gained promotion to the Premier League, what the future holds for Harrison is yet to be seen.

David Moyes could turn to Harrison

David Moyes has turned things around at Goodison Park since his return and is now looking to put his stamp on things this summer.

As a result, this has left it unlikely that Harrison’s future lies on Merseyside, with the Scotsman looking to add new faces to his side instead.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The winger has made 34 Premier League appearances this season, but just one goal contribution within that highlights why there are doubts over his future in blue.

Moyes needs to refresh his side, and seemingly, Harrison has not done enough to convince the boss that he could be part of a big change.

Harrison has previously hinted that he would be keen to extend his stay with Everton, though, and it has been suggested that it could still be on the cards.

According to the Liverpool Echo (27 May), although the 28-year-old didn’t put forward the most convincing case for being retained, Moyes could return for a potential permanent move later in the summer.

The report states that Leeds are likely to listen to offers following their promotion to the Premier League, which could benefit Everton in striking a deal.

Harrison should be last resort for Moyes

As Everton look to push forward next season, Moyes has to be considering fresh options.

Harrison may be keen on a stay, but throughout two seasons, he has not done enough so far to convince the manager that he is someone who will represent a leap forward.

Season Appearances Goals Assists

2024/25 34 1 0

2023/24 29 3 3

Harrison has not convinced Moyes during his time at Everton.

Going for a younger option who has the ability to contribute more in the final third will surely be more beneficial and there is no need to rush on any potential deal here.

Later in the summer, if the Blues still feel they are light, then returning to someone who knows the club may not be the worst call.

However, progression is key, and a clear sign of that is moving away from what is already there at Everton.
