Four pre-season fixtures confirmed and two to come? – Official Newcastle statement

Newcastle United’s pre-season plans are taking shape, with four summer fixtures now confirmed.

Trips to Celtic and a spell in Singapore, where we’ll face Arsenal, have already been announced, but another pair of fixtures has now been announced.

See all the details below, as Eddie Howe’s Mags plan a trip to South Korea for the very first time in the club’s history. 

Newcastle United will play Premier League rivals Tottenham after facing a select K-League XI in South Korea.

All dates and details will be announced in the ‘coming weeks’, with the club taking part in the Coupang Play Series 2025; one of Asia’s biggest sporting events each summer.

A club statement on Tuesday morning states:

“Our men’s team will play matches in South Korea for the first time in the club’s history this summer.

“Ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, we will take part in the prestigious Coupang Play Series 2025, one of Asia’s biggest summer sporting events.

“Eddie Howe’s men will head to South Korea for two highly anticipated games where we will face a K-League Select XI, followed by an all-Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

”Venues and fixture dates are set to be announced in coming weeks, along with ticket details for fans in South Korea as well as those wishing to travel to support us.

”The Coupang Play Series is organised by and promoted by Pitch and Coupang Corp. and has previously seen some of the world’s biggest teams play in South Korea, such as Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla FC, FC Bayern Munich and Atlético de Madrid.”

**Saturday 19th July –** Celtic vs Newcastle (3pm)

**Sunday 27th July –** Arsenal vs Newcastle (7.30pm local time)

**Unconfirmed date –** K-League XI vs Newcastle + Tottenham vs Newcastle

**Sela Cup –** Two fixtures likely from 8-10th August.
