The future of Rodrygo at Real Madrid is up in the air heading into the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian was an instrumental figure in the Spanish giants’ very successful 2023/24 campaign as Los Blancos claimed a Champions League and La Liga double.
Things changed for the winger this season with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, which led to Rodrygo being linked to Man City last summer, however, the 24-year-old opted to remain at the Bernabeu for another year.
That didn’t work out for the Brazil international as he played a secondary role to Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, which has once again led to speculation over his future ahead of the 2025/26 campaign getting underway.

No clubs have bid for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo
Rodrygo was open to a move to Man City last summer, and although the Manchester club remain interested in the winger, the Premier League giants have yet to make an offer for the Brazilian as they continue to work on strengthening other areas in their squad.
Providing an update on the future of the Real Madrid star, Jorge Picon has said: “The reality for Rodrygo is that he currently has no offers on the table, and his contract with Real Madrid runs until 2028. Arsenal’s interest is real, as is that of other Premier League teams, but any move is a long way off.”

Man City currently want to get their midfield sorted ahead of next season, and once that’s done, then a move for Rodrygo may happen, should Arsenal not get there first.
Man City fans are not too bothered if they miss out on Rodrygo as they believe the money needed to sign the 24-year-old could be put to better use, as Real Madrid are said to want between £67m to £84m for the winger.
Rodrygo has not made it clear that he wants to leave Real Madrid, and with Xabi Alonso arriving at the La Liga club this summer, that provides the Brazil star with a fresh chance to impress.

Xabi Alonso wants to keep Rodrygo at Real Madrid
Alonso will coach Real Madrid next season, and having been announced as the new boss of the La Liga giants, the Spaniard took part in a press conference on Monday, in which he addressed the future of Rodrygo.
“Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player, and I will speak to everyone at Real Madrid. They deserve it, and we need him. Rodrygo is an amazing player; we will need him,” Alonso said via GOAL when asked about the winger’s future.
Only time will tell if Rodrygo leaves Real Madrid this summer, as the La Liga giants may not be able to resist a big bid if it arrives at their doorstep.
The signing of the winger is not a crucial one for Man City ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and it is one they should only carry out once all their other areas of concern have been addressed.
