Report: 'Huge' opening bid launched to land defender TFG want to base Everton's backline around

Everton are not looking to sit around and wait for transfers to come to them this summer.

The Friedkins were forced to sit back in the January transfer window, but this summer will be a completely different story for Everton.

David Moyes will now be looking to have his hard work repaid after he stabilised the club following his return at the start of the year.

With plenty of work needing to be done this summer, the Friedkins have set Everton a significant transfer budget to bolster the squad.

Contract decisions have been slowly emerging from the club with only Seamus Coleman’s Everton future confirmed for next season – so far.

Michael Keane’s future is yet to be revealed after another impressive display filling in at the back amid Everton’s defensive injury issues.

Everton are looking to sign a new defender and an opening bid has now just been launched by a rival club in the pursuit of one of their targets.

Opening bid launched for Everton target David Hancko

One of the players Everton are targeting is David Hancko from Feyenoord.

The Slovakia international looks set to depart the Dutch outfit with a number of sides from across the world interested in his services.

According to one journalist, a ‘huge bid’ has now been launched by the Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr for the signature of Hancko.

It is claimed Feyenoord are asking for a fee in the region of €35m (£28.5m) to sell the defender this summer.

And the Saudi Pro League outfit are now pushing hard to beat the competition from Europe to snap up the 27-year-old.

The Friedkins want to base Everton’s defence around Hancko – who’s been hailed as ‘extraordinary’ – but they are now going to have to get on with any potential negotiations.

Although the transfer window may not have opened yet, it is apparent clubs are not looking to hang around this summer and lose out on their targets.

Al Nassr are set to lose Cristiano Ronaldo

Perhaps the biggest attraction of joining Al Nassr is the prospect of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo every day.

However, this soon could be about to change, with the Portuguese superstar hinting towards an exit from the Saudi side.

Although Al Nassr will still be able to offer Hancko a huge salary package, it will be interesting to see whether this could deter him from making the Saudi move.

Hancko has spoken about leaving Feyenoord this summer but his next potential destination remains a mystery.

If Saudi no longer appeals to him, he will have plenty of opportunities in Europe and specifically in the Premier League.
