Exclusive: Arne Slot could lose 'unreal' Liverpool star this summer as Brentford consider £30m deal

TBR Football understands that Brentford are looking at their goalkeeping options with their current number one, Mark Flekken, keen to join German side Bayer Leverkusen.

Leverkusen are set to appoint Erik Ten Hag as their new boss, as TBR Football confirmed, and one of the priority positions is the goalkeeping department.

TBR Football can now confirm that Flekken is now a major target for Bayer and talks have been held, and it is believed that Brentford would consider a deal for the Dutch international who turns 32 next month.

The Bees have started looking at replacements and have added Liverpool back-up Caoimhin Kelleher to their list of targets.

Brentford target Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

Brentford are already well-versed on options available to them, which include the likes of Burnley’s James Trafford and Caoimhin Kelleher, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.

Kelleher, who Harvey Elliot called ‘unreal’, could be on the move this summer as he remains number two at Liverpool behind Alisson Becker. Giorgi Mamardashvili will join Liverpool next season, making the competition for the Irish shot-stopper even tougher.

Newcastle are also considering Kelleher as Eddie Howe assesses his goalkeeper options. But, Kelleher, who has a reported £30m value, is not Brentford’s only target.

Trafford is another option for Thomas Frank’s team, with the goalkeeper having just secured Premier League promotion with Burnley. Man United have asked about Trafford and Newcastle are again in the picture, which could make this a tricky deal to get done.

Brentford could rival Arsenal for Joan Garcia

Brentford are also one of several clubs that have asked about signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia. The 24-year-old is in big demand with Barcelona and Arsenal on his trail.

Garcia suggested he will leave Espanyol this summer amid strong speculation over his future. TBR Football has also reported that Aston Villa have asked about Garcia with Emi Martinez’s future in doubt.

The West London club are assessing other markets and including the likes of Toulouse’s Guillaume Restes, Yahia Fofana of Angers and Parma’s Zion Suzuki.
