Report: How much Man City are demanding from Nuno Espirito Santo to sign former Wolves star…

An interesting development has emerged involving former Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes and Nuno Espirito Santo.

In the summer of 2023, Wolves sold Matheus Nunes for £53 million to Manchester City after spending just one campaign at the club.

Supporters weren’t pleased with how the 26-year-old left Molineux, as Nunes went on strike to facilitate a transfer.

Unfortunately, Wolves fans now boo Nunes every time they come up against Man City, telling of how much they dislike the Portuguese international.

Although he exited the club as a villain almost two years ago, he’s continued that arc at the Etihad Stadium, and could now be sold for a fraction of the price this summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants to sign Matheus Nunes as Man City set £35 million asking price

Since being snapped up by Pep Guardiola, it’s been a difficult time for the midfielder at the Premier League giants, with Nunes transforming into a right-back.

The Portuguese did produce some solid performances in his new role, amassing an impressive 10 assists across the season in all competitions.

Now, according to The Sun, Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Nunes in a potential swap deal with former academy graduate Morgan Gibbs-White.

The report claims that Nunes is valued at £35 million and could be used as a bargaining chip for Man City to lure Gibbs-White to the Etihad Stadium.

It was said previously that Forest wanted a whopping £100 million for Gibbs-White, and now, Nuno Espirito Santo could be willing to let him leave to sign the City star.

Wolves will need to sign a right-back of their own

Should Nunes move to the City Ground, it would be interesting to see whether he’d continue as a right-back or switch back into midfield.

One thing is for sure, Wolves could be in the market for their own right-sided defender amid the high chance of Nelson Semedo leaving the club.

Semedo, who sees his contract expire this summer, has already recorded his goodbye video in preparation for his departure.

Worryingly, it emerged on Monday that Manchester United were interested in Semedo, who could be tempted by a move to Old Trafford.

After their final game of the season on Sunday, Semedo updated Wolves fans on his future, claiming he’s still yet to make a decision.

With time running out before the transfer window opens, the 31-year-old is likely to move on, and Vitor Pereira will need to replace him.
