Chelsea to add six new players to Enzo Maresca's squad as£111.8m transfer spree complete

Chelsea have already lined up six new players for Enzo Maresca's squad ahead of the summer transfer window. Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital joined forces to buy the west London outfit from Roman Abramovich in May 2022, the Blues have signed some of the most sought after youngsters in the world.

Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum with Bloomberg last week, Boehly explained why he's so excited about what the future holds at Stamford Bridge. The American billionaire said: "We think we have one of the best young teams.

"We were early on doing seven, eight, nine year contracts because we really wanted to make sure that we could keep the team together for a long time.

"In order to have a really good team you need stability within the team, environment. The only way that comes is through time. We set it up to be able to benefit from that."

Before the summer transfer window has even opened, Maresca is set to add some of the most exciting young players in the world to his squad. So, with that being said, football.london has looked at who Chelsea have already signed...

Andrey Santos

Andrey Santos, who Chelsea signed from Vasco da Gama for £18m in January 2023, caught the eye while on loan at Strasbourg this season. Playing a key role in Liam Rosenior's side, the 21-year-old midfielder helped the French outfit secure qualification to the UEFA Conference League.

He featured 32 times in Ligue 1, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists. Santos was nominated for the young player of the year award, and he's recently been called up to the Brazil squad ahead of two crucial World Cup qualifiers.

football.london understands the midfielder is set to be included in Chelsea's squad for the FIFA Club World Cup next month. Santos will be an excellent addition to Maresca's side as the Blues look to climb the Premier League.

Todd Boehly is also keen to see how the youngster gets on in west London. Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum with Bloomberg earlier this month, the Chelsea co-owner and chairman said: "We're going to the Club World Cup, so we are laser-focused on the Club World Cup.

"We have some players that are joining us that weren't on the team - Andrey Santos, we're really excited about him and what he can add to the squad."

Estevao Willian

Estevao Willian will be another exciting addition to the Chelsea squad this summer. The Blues signed the 17-year-old winger from Palmeiras last summer for an initial £29m; a fee which could rise to £55m with performance-based add-ons.

Chelsea raised eyebrows when they forked out such a hefty fee for Estevao, but now he looks to be a brilliant piece of business. This year, the teenage sensation has featured 30 times for Palmeiras, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.

Maresca will be hoping Estevao, who has also been named in the latest Brazil squad by Carlo Ancelotti, can continue his rich vein of form upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer. Unlike Santos, though, he won't join Chelsea until July.

In an interview with Spanish outlet AS last, André Cury revealed that his client will play for Palmeiras at the tournament in the United States. Estevao could be the perfect understudy to Cole Palmer.

Kendry Paez

Kendry Paez, who Chelsea signed from Independiente del Valle for £17.5m in June 2023, will be eligible to finally join Maresca's squad after turning 18 earlier this month. In preparation for his arrival at Stamford Bridge, the midfielder trained with Strasbourg in April.

football.london understands that Paez was sent to work with Rosenior's side to help him acclimatise to European culture, which proved to be highly beneficial for his development. Back in February, the Ecuadorian spent some time at Chelsea's training base in Surrey to begin his integration.

Not only can Paez play on the right, but he can also play in midfield, which would make him a valuable addition to Maresca's squad next season. That said, an initial loan to Strasbourg would probably be best, where he'd have the freedom to make mistakes, hone his skills and develop under a top young coach.

Dário Essugo

Dario Essugo, who Chelsea signed from Sporting CP for £18.4m in March 2025, will arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer following a loan spell at Las Palmas. The 20-year-old midfielder recently penned an emotional statement on social media to announce his move.

Mike Penders

Mike Penders, who Chelsea signed from Genk in August 2024 for around £17m, will join Maresca's squad this summer ahead of the Club World Cup. The 19-year-old goalkeeper has recently burst onto the scene as one of the most exciting shot-stoppers in Europe, establishing himself as a regular for the Belgian outfit.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, following Genk's 2-1 win over Anderlecht, Penders confirmed his move to west London. As quoted by local newspaper Het Belang van Limburg, the teenager said: "I’m going to take a short holiday and then go to America with Chelsea for the Club World Cup.

"It’s a mixed feeling. I don’t know if this was my last match for Genk or not. First, I’m going to play the Club World Cup. During that tournament it will become clear where I’m going to play next season: at Chelsea, Genk or somewhere else."

Mamadou Sarr

Mamadou Sarr, who Chelsea signed from Strasbourg for £11.9m in January 2025, will be the sixth new face at Cobham this summer. The 19-year-old defender hope to force himself into Maresca's side following a brilliant campaign in the French top-flight.
