It seems like a key part of Manchester City’s summer transfer plans is to address their midfield department.
As a result, Manchester City are ready to sign Tijjani Reijnders — a player who both Pep Guardiola and Hugo Viana believe could elevate their roster.
Furthermore, Morgan Gibbs-White is on Manchester City’s radar as well.
Far too often during the 2024/2025 season, City’s midfield was ripped apart due to their lack of athleticism and in the following campaign, it could be exploited once again unless the Sky Blues inject fresh blood into their squad.
Manchester City have been in talks to sign Ardon Jashari
Pep Guardiola’s men are always on the lookout to sign young players, with Manchester City targeting Tino Livramento and another 22-year-old prospect who they have now been linked to is Ardon Jashari.
The Swiss international, who is a defensive midfielder by trade has had a terrific campaign for Club Brugge, winning the Jupiler Pro League Player of the Season award as well.

Club Brugge have set an asking price of in excess of €35 million (£29.3 million) for the youngster.
Aside from Manchester City, German clubs like Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach are also “monitoring” Jashari.
Manuel Akanji’s record alongside Ardon Jashari
It seemed like Manchester City were not targeting defensive midfielders in the summer, with Rodri at their disposal and Nico Gonzalez playing the role at times this season.
However, it is important to remember that Nico is a natural number eight.
As a result, Manchester City seem to have their sights set on Jashari, who could very well learn his craft under Rodri.

While the highly-rated midfielder has impressed in Belgium, he is still a relatively unknown commodity in England.
However, Manuel Akanji perhaps knows Jashari better than most, having trained and played with him in the Swiss national team.
The pair were on the same pitch in tandem once as well; unfortunately, it was when Switzerland lost 6-1 to Portugal at the 2022 World Cup quarter-final.
