CorSport: Another clue arrives – Reijnders cancels vacation with €70m Man City bid incoming

Some rather worrying news has emerged regarding Tijjani Reijnders, who continues to be the subject of strong interest from Manchester City.

Reijnders was crowned the best midfielder in Serie A for 2024-25 in a small ceremony on the field at San Siro during the 2-0 win over Monza on Saturday night. After the game, he took his son Xavien onto the field, and many perceived his actions to be a goodbye.

Reijnders: Another clue arrives

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes that the future of Reijnders is among the most difficult issues that the new sporting director Igli Tare must immediately tackle.

Sources close to the player have revealed a significant detail about the Dutchman’s summer schedule. Reijnders had booked a vacation in Ibiza at the beginning of July with his family to recover from the efforts of the season that had just ended. However, the vacation was cancelled.

It is therefore possible that Manchester City are behind this. More specifically, Pep Guardiola’s request to immediately close the deal to have the former AZ Alkmaar man in his squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which begins on 14 June in the United States of America.

Guardiola has put Reijnders at the top of his list of midfield signings after losing Kevin De Bruyne, and Milan could soon receive their first official offer of around €70m for the player, who it seems is on standby waiting for the green light.
