Liverpool have already been rumoured to be interested in several players ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz have been the two main players linked with Liverpool, with Milos Kerkez’s future also in question.
At the moment, nothing has been confirmed or denied by any of the involved parties, but with Liverpool’s Premier League rivals such as Manchester City and Arsenal both likely to strengthen in the summer, Arne Slot would be silly not to try and do the same.
One of the main areas where Liverpool have lacked this season is their number nine, which is why it’s not all that surprising to see a fair few strikers such as Alexander Isak linked with an Anfield switch.

However, the Reds are not alone in their pursuit of a goal-scorer, with other top-flight teams such as Manchester United also rumoured to want a new focal point for their attack.
Manchester United join Liverpool in race for Hugo Ekitike
One player Liverpool have been linked with is Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
In fact, Frankfurt director Markus Krosche has even admitted that the Bundesliga outfit could lose him this summer.
And, as per a fresh report from Caught Offside, it seems that Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are all now looking to add him to their ranks, with each club ‘monitoring him closely.’

Caught Offside add that Ruben Amorim’s men are the ones who are in the most ‘advanced stages’ of a potential move, with the Red Devils looking to replace Rasmus Hojlund.
The report also adds that Arsenal have also ‘made contact’ with Ekitike’s camp as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Liverpool should try and sign Hugo Ekitke this summer
There’s no denying that Liverpool would have massively struggled in the final third this season if it wasn’t for Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian King has been the shining light within the Reds’ team this term, and without him, it’s unlikely that Slot’s men would have been anywhere near as dominant as they have been.
Ekitike has been in fine form this term, with the Frenchman contributing to 34 goals across all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit.
Competition Games Goals Assists

Europa League 12 4 3
DFB Pokal 3 3 1

The main concern for Liverpool will likely be his price tag, especially since it seems like they’ll be signing Wirtz for a club record fee this summer.
Indeed, only time will tell what the future holds, but for now, it’s anyone’s guess who the Anfield outfit could be adding to their ranks in the summer.
However, with the way that things have started, it feels like there’s going to be plenty of change over the next few months, which in order to keep competitive, is essential.
