Become a part of the fabric at Old Trafford

The Academy Wall will celebrate the immense contributions of two Busby Babes we lost in Munich, Roger Byrne and Duncan Edwards – we remember their achievements but also their courage and tenacity which made them destined for further greatness but for a cruel twist of fate.

Four 1968 European Cup-winners George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton, Bill Foulkes and Brian Kidd will also adorn the wall, an appropriate tribute to their talent and the symbolism of their triumph, 10 years on from Munich.

Mark Hughes also takes his place in the wall, recognising his 163 goals, especially the two in Rotterdam in 1991, not to mention two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.

A celebration of our Academy would not be complete without David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, representing the Class of ’92. With more than 3,000 appearances between them, their combined achievements are unique, culminating in the Treble in 1999.

The Academy Wall will also honour another Treble winner, Wes Brown, who also played a vital part in the Champions League final victory in 2008, providing an assist for United’s goal.

The final icon who will adorn the wall is Ella Toone. With over 150 appearances (so far!) and a sublime goal to deliver the women’s team’s first major trophy, Toone is already a United legend, and everyone is excited to see what she achieves in years to come.
