Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, has issued a statement following the incident on in Liverpool city centre after Liverpool FC’s title parade yesterday.

Cllr Graham Morgan commented: “Our thoughts and prayers today are with all of those impacted across our region by the horrendous incident that happened in Liverpool yesterday evening. What should have been such a special day for so many ended in a way that no one could have imagined.

“The response from our emergency services and all the people of Liverpool who stepped up to help those impacted was remarkable and I want to pay tribute to their bravery and kindness.

And for those directly impacted I send my love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.”
