Matheus Cunha heaps praise on Wolves ahead of Manchester United move. The Brazilian ace has expressed his gratitude towards his club and their passionate supporters as he edges closer to a transfer to United.
During his stint at Molineux, Cunha became a pivotal figure, aiding the team's escape from the relegation mire.
The forward was linked with a departure in January but quickly quashed such rumours by penning a new deal, though it came with a release clause that looks set to be activated this approaching summer. Red Devils head coach [Ruben Amorim](https://www.express.co.uk/latest/ruben-amorim) views him as the perfect reinforcement for United's forward line.
Despite constant speculation surrounding his future, Cunha has delivered stellar performances and matched the record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League campaign by a Brazilian footballer. With 15 goals to his name, Cunha has credited the Wolves fans for his success.
He acknowledged the squad failed to achieve what fans had hoped for, yet his individual achievements stemmed from his "dedication and love" for Wolves, hinting at the possibility that he may have played his last match for the club.
In a heartfelt social media post, Cunha said: "Wolves, what can I say to you? What an incredible season. We didn't get to where you deserve to be, but we did everything we could to make you proud. I love these guys.
"Individually, it was the best season of my life. All of this was only possible because of all the dedication and love I have for this club. I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season, along with @roberto\_firmino and @gabriel.martinelli. I made mistakes and got things right, but always because I lived this club so much.
"All I ever wanted was to do the impossible for Wolves. Another one is over. And thank you all for all the affection. Looks good, looks fine.."
United are poised to bolster their attacking options with the signing of Cunha, despite not qualifying for the Champions League. The club's financial clout remains strong enough to secure the services of the sought-after Brazilian, as they aim to improve their lacklustre strike force.
Amidst speculation of a deal between Cunha and United, Vitor Pereira has played down the rumours about his player's future: "I have the same information as you. I don't know. I just know he's my player. He's committed with the team, he's working with happiness and we will see what happens. You must ask him. He is happy. I feel he is happy."
