AFC Bournemouth can offer Kyogo Furuhashi an escape route, months after leaving Celtic. The forward spent over four years at Celtic Park and left Brendan Rodgers’ side for Stade Rennais in the winter market.
The French club paid €12m to Celtic and gave Furuhashi a contract until 2027.
The 30-year-old’s decision to leave Celtic hasn’t paid off as he played only 120 minutes from six games for the Ligue 1 club.
Le Parisien reports the forward wants to leave and Bournemouth could be an option for him. Stade Rennais also want to part ways with the Japan international and put him up for sale.
Despite his struggles in France, Furuhashi is rated highly in the UK, likely because of his spell at Celtic. Bournemouth are mentioned and the report states they have ‘positioned themselves’ to find out the conditions needed to secure his services.
As well as Furuhashi, the Cherries are looking at his club teammate, Adrien Truffert.
The 23-year-old left-back’s contract lasts until 2026 and Bournemouth are monitoring him closely. Stade Rennais’ intention is to offer him an extension, but the defender wants a transfer in the upcoming window.
