Fans Saddened by Timberwolves' Wordless Message After Game 4 Loss to Thunder

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of another Western Conference finals exit.

The Timberwolves, who lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 edition of the Western Conference finals, suffered their third loss in their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night to the tune of a 128-126 score.

Minnesota’s Game 4 loss to the Thunder also means that the Timberwolves are now in a win-or-go-home situation the rest of the way in the series.

The dire situation of the Timberwolves can be clearly felt through the comments made by their fans on an Instagram post that Minnesota shared following the contest.

"All I know is pain," said a fan on Instagram.

Another one said: "I’m gutted but just gotta believe wolves in 7 💔”

From a commenter: "Being a Wolves fan is hard.”

“Ant Wth you fr broke my heart bruh💔,” a social media user commented.

Via a different commenter: “Another Day, Another L.”

Said another: “That was really heartbreaking, fr!!”

Edwards and Julius Randle were expected to do most of the heavy lifting for the Timberwolves in Game 4, but they did not have the kind of performance needed to save Minnesota from another defeat. Edwards had 16 points on 13 attempts from the field while Randle sputtered on a 1-for-7 shooting from the floor before finishing with five points.

Instead, the Timberwolves were buoyed up by their supporting cast as Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVincenzo combined for 44 points and 10 3-pointers off the bench, while Jaden McDaniels led all starters with 22 points.

The Timberwolves and the Thunder have identical offensive and defensive ratings through four games in the series, but Minnesota is hurting itself with poor ball security. Minnesota has a 16.9 percent turnover rate in the conference finals, the worst among all four teams in the third round of the playoffs.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder now look to end the series on Wednesday at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
