Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson was already at risk of losing his place in Enzo Maresca’s starting XI next season.
But now it looks like the Senegal international could lose his spot in Chelsea’s squad altogether.
Jackson is currently the team’s first-choice striker, but the Blues are being linked with several centre-forwards ahead of the summer transfer window.
There has now been a fresh development in Chelsea‘s search for a new No.9, which could have serious ramifications for Jackson.

Nicolas Jackson could be finished at Chelsea as Blues target two new strikers
It had been thought that Chelsea only wanted to bring in one new forward to provide Jackson with some more competition.
However, journalist Simon Phillips has shared on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues are actually keen to sign two No.9s.
It would be a huge blow for Jackson, whose career at Stamford Bridge would be all but over. The 23-year-old is highly unlikely to accept being third choice.
Rangers legend Ally McCoist has been disappointed with Jackson this season, feeling that his finishing has not improved.

The two strikers Chelsea are most likely to sign
At this moment in time, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap are the two No.9s who are said to be at the top of Chelsea’s shortlist.
Landing both forwards, though, will not be easy. Eintracht want €100m for Ekitike and have no plans to negotiate with Chelsea, while the Blues face competition from Manchester United to sign Delap.
Chelsea are hopeful of winning the race for Delap after securing Champions League qualification, and if they do, that could be very bad news for Jackson should the 22-year-old arrive at Stamford Bridge alongside Ekitike.
