Alan Myers shares what he's now heard about Everton's Carlos Alcaraz talks with Flamengo

Everton have shared some more information on the future of four on-loan players this week.

David Moyes promised contract news to come on Monday and that is exactly what the club provided.

A lot of work is going to be needed at Everton this summer, with the Toffees now needing to add numbers as well as improving the quality of their squad.

Everton are returning four of their loanees back to their parent clubs at the end of the season, but one could still remain.

The future of Argentine midfielder Carlos Alcaraz is still hanging in the balance.

In the announcement on Monday, Everton said they are negotiating a deal for Alcaraz with his parent club Flamengo.

The 22-year-old did not play enough games for his stay on Merseyside to become permanent, but the Blues do hold the option to buy.

With talks ongoing, reporter Alan Myers has shared his latest understanding on the situation.

What Everton need to do to sign Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo

Everton could purchase Alcaraz for around £15m this summer, but the Toffees have taken to further negotiations with Flamengo over the deal.

Alcaraz played a huge role in Everton’s final-day victory over Newcastle United having scored the only goal of the game.

But Myers believes there are still a number of things which the two clubs still need to agree on to secure a deal.

“Still think there are a few things to agree,” he said specifically on social media.

Alcaraz has admitted he wants to stay at Everton after he addressed the fans following full-time on Tyneside at the weekend.

The Argentine has impressed when he has been used by Moyes and could now provide the obvious replacement for the departing Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Angus Kinnear is going to be busy at Everton this summer and simply landing Alcaraz could take a major weight off the shoulders of the recruitment staff.

David Moyes issues Everton message following loan announcement

Moyes is keen for Everton to sign Alcaraz with the Scot having spoken a lot more positively about the midfielder in recent weeks.

There is a lot to be excited about with Alcaraz who has proven a real bright spark in the attacking midfield role.

Considering he only joined in January, Alcaraz has considerably outperformed the likes of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom who played the entire season on Merseyside.

Speaking about the impact of the on-loan players at Everton, Moyes said:

“We would like to thank all our loan players, who have contributed to the positive steps we made on the pitch,” he told the Everton website.

“They all embraced what it means to play for this club, and their attitude and commitment throughout their time at Everton was first class.”
