Wolves fans are now extremely attentive to the movements of Nelson Semedo, who stands to become a free agent.
The captain has just finished his fifth season at Molineux after joining from Barcelona, but it’s very possible he won’t be back for a sixth.
Last week, Semedo was spotted at Molineux filming a goodbye video. But it later transpired this was just in case he left – he still hasn’t decided what he’s doing.
Semedo was serenaded by Wolves fans at Molineux after the draw with Brentford, and it all looked like he and the supporters were saying goodbye to each other.
However, Semedo updated Wolves fans on social media yesterday, saying he still hadn’t made a decision on his future.
But one may come soon, with the player dropping a hint after that game on Sunday.

There is still an outside chance Nelson Semedo could extend his deal with Wolves.
Semedo has a four-year contract offer on the table from Wolves, and Vitor Pereira has spoken previously about wanting to keep the player.

Earlier this year, Benfica were linked with a move for Semedo and their interest hasn’t gone away.
After the game with Brentford, Semedo was actually asked about Benfica’s interest, with Record quoting him as saying: “I think there is interest on the part of Benfica. And obviously, I just have to thank you for that interest. I was happy at Benfica, obviously it’s a home that brought me a lot of good things, I was champion.
“It’s the club of my heart, so I think that by itself coming back for those few reasons would be great, but we’ll see.”
“Honestly I don’t know where I’m going yet. I have to sit down with my family now in the next few days and see what is best for me and decide with my head and not with my heart.”
Wolves set to lose a key player in Semedo
The expectation is still that Semedo will leave Wolves this summer – and it will be a big blow for Pereira if it happens.
Semedo had a shaky first season at Molineux, but has got better and better and his last two campaigns have been solid.

Appearances – 182
Goals – 3
Assists – 11
Arguably his best campaign was 2023/24, which ended with him being named Players’ Player of the Season.
Semedo can be prone to lapses every so often, but by and large he is a very dependable defender and as we’ve seen this year, a pretty good leader.
He is perhaps one of those players you don’t fully appreciate how good they are until they’re gone.
