Nottingham Forest’s season came to an end on Sunday afternoon and now the full focus is on the fast-approaching summer transfer window.
The window opens its doors in June, and Nottingham Forest are expected to be very busy, with Evangelos Marinakis planning to back Nuno Espirito Santo with a healthy budget.
Espirito Santo is already plotting a move for playmaker James McAtee, who Manchester City value at around £35m.
Liam Delap continues to be linked with Forest, too, and Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez is reportedly on the radar.
So there’s plenty going on at Nottingham Forest behind the scenes, and now there’s been a fresh transfer development emerging from the continent.

Nottingham Forest given hope of signing Mattia Zaccagni
Nottingham Forest have been eyeing a move for Mattia Zaccagni, though, it was initially reported that he would reject the Tricky Trees.
The Lazio wide player preferred to stay put in the capital, having already said no to Napoli in the January transfer window.
However, there’s now a fresh report from InterNews1908 that claims Forest have been given new hope of signing Zaccagni.
MORE FOREST STORIES
There is a belief that if Forest ‘call’ the 29-year-old, he could change his mind and opt for a move to the Premier League.
Forest believe he’d be the perfect winger for Espirito Santo’s system.
Zaccagni stats 2024/25
Zaccagni, who has been capped 10 times by Italy, predominantly operates as a left-winger, cutting onto his favoured right foot.
He’s enjoyed a really productive season in Serie A, helping Lazio to a seventh-place finish, level with Fiorentina in sixth.
46 appearances
10 goals
9 assists
Lazio were asking for £33m when Paris Saint-Germain came calling for Zaccagni in 2023, but given he’s approaching 30, their valuation should be a lot less than that now.
Forest will have a big budget to spend this summer, but they must remain shrewd, which has worked so well for them in the past couple of years.
