Manchester City could be set to let 10 senior players leave the club this summer as they look to revamp their squad.
The 10-time English champions have endured a challenging season after failing to defend their Premier League title for a fifth year in a row.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side recovered from a disappointing first half of the campaign to record a third-place finish.
Guardiola has warned he will quit Man City if he has to work with a large squad again next season.
Speaking to the media on 20 May, he said: “I told the club I don’t want a big squad. I don’t want to put five, six players in the [squad], I don’t want that. I will quit.
“If they don’t make a short squad, I will not stay. It’s impossible for my soul to put players in the tribune and cannot play.”

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the club could let up to 10 players leave this summer before they start signing new players.
Man City spent around £200million on new signings in January as Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez all joined the club.

Man City to green light Pep Guardiola transfer demand
Borson insisted Man City chiefs will grant Guardiola his wish to work with a smaller squad next season.
He told Football Insider: “It won’t have come out of the blue.
“I think the situation is that because the squad is now effectively fully fit aside from John Stones, he’s got about five players who can’t even get on the bench.
“Obviously, he doesn’t like dealing with that. That’s too many players, but it’s not normal that you would have your fully-fit squad.
“The problem that they’ve got is they bought four players in January and, on top of that, they’ve probably had two or three players come through the youth system into the team in O’Reilly and players like that.
“The squad has become a little bit bloated and the challenge will be removing let’s say 10 players. That will not be straightforward.
“So, selling or loaning 10 players could be before you start signing new players. We will see in the summer.
“I think it is a challenge. He’s obviously not going to resign, and City will do what he wants to do.
“If he wants a smaller squad, City will give him a smaller squad.”

Football Insider revealed on 24 May Man City face competition from Arsenal to sign Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer window.
Man City have turned their attention towards Gibbs-White after appearing to cool their interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
Arsenal are set to compete for the England international’s signature after Nottingham Forest failed to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League this season.
