Richard Keys says he heard a rumour about Jack Grealish's next club amid reported interest from …

**Manchester City's £100 million midfielder Jack Grealish looks destined to leave the Etihad this summer as things just never really worked out for the England star following his big-money move.**

For whatever reason, things just never clicked at City for Jack Grealish, and the former Aston Villa superstar has faded into mediocrity since his switch.

It seems as if the time has finally come for both parties to call time on the experiment, and Newcastle United have been strongly linked with a move for the skilful midfielder with calves handcrafted by God. Unfortunately for Grealish, the deal was calves or brains.

Newcastle have been linked to Grealish a few times, but it has always felt like we were being used to sell the idea of a move rather than actually being interested. However, the links remain, and now that Grealish looks to be on the move, the rumours are getting stronger.

Richard Keys says Jack Grealish was destined for Manchester United

------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're to listen to Richard Keys, though (but why would you?), the beIN Sports host would have you believe that Manchester United were once favourites to land Grealish, but their failure to win the Europa League trophy put an end to the move.

> “I had a whisper on Grealish. It might be affected by the fact Manchester United have lost the Europa League final, but I was told that had United won it and therefore qualified for the Champions League he would be signing for them in the summer.“I thought it would be great for both parties. It depends on what other offers Jack’s got. He’s gone.

> “For me, Manchester United would be a very good venue, but it would be great for both parties. I think he would be loved (at Everton), Everton love a 10. United or Everton.”

We just can't see how Jack Grealish fits in at Newcastle United

---------------------------------------------------------------

Obviously, Grealish is going to have to accept a mighty pay cut from his [reported £300k-a-week wages](https://www.capology.com/player/jack-grealish-34952/) wherever he goes, and if it's Everton, that's likely to be a substantial hit to his pocket.

We still feel there's no place for Grealish in our squad. We've no doubt that Eddie Howe could get him back to near his best, but we don't play with a number 10, and that's where Grealish really thrives.

Although there has been talk that Eddie Howe could be working on a new system for next season, so who knows? Would you take Grealish at the Toon?
