Curtis Jones was spotted seemingly criticising Trent Alexander-Arnold during Liverpool's open-top bus parade on Monday. The event, designed to be a celebration of the club's recent Premier League success, was marred after 47 people were injured when a vehicle collided with pedestrians who had lined the streets of the city.
A 53-year-old white British man has subsequently been arrested, with police confirming that they are treating the situation as an 'isolated incident'. Prior to that, the scenes on Merseyside were something to behold, with the city ablaze in red smoke and jerseys as an estimated 1 million people turned out to get a glimpse of the champions.
This led to an emotional reaction from Alexander-Arnold, who is set to join Real Madrid at the end of his contract. However, teammate Jones didn't appear to buy the tears the defender seemed to have shed, and his reaction has gotten people talking.

In one piece of footage released on social media, Alexander-Arnold could be spotted leaning over the edge of the bus, wiping away tears while being consoled by Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, who draped his arm around the 26-year-old. Next to the pair was Jones, who could be seen looking over at the defender in bemusement.
Jones looked puzzled while looking around at his surroundings, before getting Salah's attention and seemingly asking why his compatriot was so upset. It then appeared as if the midfielder gestured the use of a camera, to which the Egyptian shrugged his shoulders.
As a result, several fans have theorised what Jones may have said or implied, with the general consensus being that he was accusing Alexander-Arnold of performing for the cameras and that his emotional reaction was less authentic than first thought.
This led to praise from many online, with one fan taking to X to write: "Curtis knows. Fair play." A second added: "The real scouser in our team. Give him a lifetime contract!"
A third stated: "Look at Curtis next to Mo, he's not having it, he's saying it's for the cameras."
