Manchester United are preparing a ‘serious’ bid to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike this summer, CaughtOffside has reported.
The Red Devils are believed to be in the advanced stages of internal planning around an initial proposal for the 22-year-old forward, who has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle are all reportedly monitoring Ekitike closely, while United aim to move ahead in the race to capture the Frenchman.
Old Trafford chiefs are said to have held positive discussions with Ekitike’s representatives already and are preparing to launch a serious pursuit as they look to bolster Ruben Amorim’s frontline with a new number nine.

According to CaughtOffside, both Liverpool and Arsenal could bring tough competition to the table in Man United’s pursuit of Ekitike this summer.
The two Premier League powerhouses rate the French forward highly, and Arsenal are believed to have also made contact with Ekitike’s camp to explore a summer move.
While Frankfurt are said to be keen to retain Ekitike for another season, they have not ruled out a sale and would entertain offers in the region of €80–90m (£67m–£75m).
The Frenchman, praised as ‘a mix of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe’, joined Frankfurt permanently from Paris Saint-Germain last summer for a reported €35m (£30m) fee.
Man United are set to make Wolves star Matheus Cunha their first summer arrival, having reached a verbal agreement with all parties involved over a deal for the 25-year-old.
The Red Devils are expected to pay the Brazilian forward’s £62.5m release clause in instalments and sign him on a five-year deal, with an option for a further season.
