Report: Bayern Munich could be vying with Atlético Madrid, Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion for…

Reports regarding Atlético Madrid’s interest in VfB Stuttgart attacker Nick Woltemade appear to be true, but Bayern Munich could also be in the mix. All that said, Woltemade likely is not leaving VfB Stuttgart just yet per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):

Atlético Madrid contacted Nick Woltemade’s camp on Sunday to ask about the conditions of a potential deal with a view to replacing Ángel Correa. Bayern, Brighton and Everton also have the striker on their radar. Woltemade has no release clause in his Stuttgart contract and currently has no desire to leave.

VfB Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle told Sport.de and RTL that no other clubs have contacted him yet over a move for Woltemade.

“No one has called us. And I firmly believe that no one will call us, because we’re planning next season with Nick. [Bayern] are free to enquire, but Nick is our player, and he’ll play football with us next season as well,” said Wehrle (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Woltemade operates centrally as a striker, second striker, or attacking midfielder, but his future appears to be as a No. 9. At 6′ 6″ (1.98 m) and close to 200 lbs. (90.7 kilos), Woltemade definitely has a profile that could be effective in Bavaria.

A transfer with a loan back to VfB Stuttgart either this summer or next might not be the worst idea. If Bayern Munich has learned anything from the Florian Wirtz fiasco, it should be that sometimes you have strike early on a target you really want.
