Report: Newcastle eyeing move to sign 'incredible' Premier League winner, £30m gets a deal done

Newcastle are among a host of Premier League clubs showing interest in Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah ahead of the summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.

The Magpies, along with Brentford, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, are reportedly keen on signing the 22-year-old, who is expected to be available for around €30–35m (£25–29m).

Liverpool have struggled to provide Quansah with regular Premier League minutes this term and are open to his summer departure, with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Premier League winners are planning to sell the England international to generate funds for new signings, including the potential club-record acquisition of Florian Wirtz.

According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle are believed to have offered Quansah assurances of regular game time next season, although Forest, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are currently more active in the 22-year-old’s pursuit.

Dortmund are particularly keen to sign Quansah for next season, given their successful track record with English players such as Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho.

Quansah’s desire to leave Anfield has reportedly grown in recent months amid limited game time under Arne Slot this term.

The ‘incredible’ central defender has made just 11 starts across all competitions, with only four coming in the Premier League.

Newcastle were targeting a new centre-back last summer and had as many as four bids rejected by Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi.

The England defender remains on the Magpies’ radar ahead of the market reopening next month, and Palace are not in as strong a negotiating position this time, with just over a year left on Guehi’s contract.
