United prepare "formal bid" for Bundesliga superstar to obliterate Liverpool's transfer plan…

Manchester United are set to launch a massive bid for striker Hugo Ekitike as the transfer race for the Eintracht Frankfurt star heats up, if the latest report on the matter is to be believed.

Back in March, it was reported that Man United were in competition with Aston Villa and Newcastle United to sign the Bundesliga star.

Still, United appeared to have the edge over their rivals, particularly since Ekitike himself revealed that he is a boyhood fan of the club.

Despite their perceived advantage, United may still have a long way to go in convincing the Frankfurt striker to join the club, given that Chelsea have entered the fray, as have Arsenal and Liverpool.

With no Champions League football to offer Ekitike, United seem willing to go all in financially in what is probably the only way for them to establish an advantage over their transfer rivals.

“According to CaughtOffside sources, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are all monitoring Ekitike closely as they assess their forward options,” CaughtOffside reported this morning.

“Man United, in particular, are believed to be in advanced stages of internal planning around a formal bid,” the report confirmed.

Still, even if Ruben Amorim’s team is working hard toward completing a deal, their deal could be threatened by Liverpool.

“Liverpool are considering the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez, should the Uruguayan depart for Spain or Saudi Arabia,” the article mentioned.

Ekitike has been a revelation this season, scoring 15 goals and bagging eight assists in 33 Bundesliga matches. It thus makes complete sense that so many teams want him.

But even if United were to miss out on Ekitike due to such high competition, the club still looks set to lure some lucrative attacking talent to Old Trafford ahead of the new season.

The Peoples Person relayed that Matheus Cunha has already reached a full agreement with United, while talks have reportedly already been held with Bryan Mbeumo over his potential transfer.

While Ekitike is a worthwhile talent to consider, United should not lose any sleep over him should they miss out on his signing, particularly as they look to bring proven Premier League attackers to their lineup.
