With the Premier League season having finished on Sunday, attention now turns to the upcoming summer transfer window.
Sides at both ends of the top flight table will likely be busy in the the market in the coming months, including Manchester United who endured a dismal campaign.
The Red Devils finished 16th in the Premier League table, losing 18 of their 38 games in the competition.
Ruben Amorim’s side produced an impressive display to defeat Aston Villa on the final day of the season, ending the Villans’ hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next term.
Now, with the season behind them, it has emerged that United are working hard to sign one of the Premier League’s most promising young players.
According to TBR Football, the Manchester giants have held talks with Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap on more than one occasion in recent weeks.

The report claims that United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, is keen to finalise a move for the Englishman, who has enjoyed a fine debut season at Portman Road.
Having joined Ipswich from Manchester City last summer, the 22-year-old netted 12 times in 37 Premier League games as Kieran McKenna’s side battled against relegation from the top flight.
The Englishman is under contract in East Anglian until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but he looks extremely likely to leave the club before the start of next season.
The striker’s release clause has dropped to £30 million following Town’s relegation to the Championship, and several clubs are said to be interested in the striker.
It is claimed that the player’s representatives have made it clear to interested parties that the youngster expects to be a first-choice starter at his next club.
Delap is said to be keen to start regularly for his next side, with a view to forcing his way into the England squad for the World Cup next year.
