Armando Broja should be embarrassed after what’s come out about him at Everton - opinion

Armando Broja will want to quickly forget about his dismal loan spell with Everton.

It was confirmed the other day that Everton would not be entertaining the £30m permanent fee for Broja.

The on-loan Chelsea forward struggled with injuries and could only muster up ten league appearances all season.

Injury issues have been the Albanian’s downfall throughout his career, and gave reason why David Moyes chose to ‘pass’ on Broja.

It’s a tenure he will want to forget, but something else has come out that makes his stint even more embarrassing.

What makes Armando Broja’s Everton tenure even more embarrassing

Moyes will be looking to find a reliable striker next season to help Everton with their project under The Friedkin Group.

This brings more reason as to why Everton want to break the bank for Delap next campaign to be their main man.

Broja had promise but his injury doubts always lingered and his brief appearances did leave Everton fans impressed with Broja.

But he just wasn’t around enough, and now a statistic has come out which sums up his tenure on Merseyside, and it’s not good reading for the striker.

Broja ended his Everton career with a total of 4 shots, but the humiliating part is that all of them were off target.

Broja’s loan signing was ultimately a waste at Everton

The fact that the question of whether Broja being signed for £30m is justified, even got posed, is laughable.

Of course, it’s unfortunate for the striker who has no luck with injuries, but this just shows another error made by Sean Dyche.

Everton’s goalscoring problems got saved by Beto under Moyes, but another striker could’ve come in earlier, and you can only help but feel that Broja’s position could’ve been replaced by a proven striker in the summer instead.

It was clear fans didn’t want Broja signed permanently, and it’s no doubt the best outcome for all parties after a dismal spell.

Broja’s statistics in ten Premier League appearances for Everton

Goals 0

Minutes played 331

Shots/on target 4/0

Touches in opposition box 18

Aerial duels won % 46.2%

To see just four shots in his time is shocking, but to not even hit the target sums up Broja’s Everton stay in what was a big waste for everyone concerned.
