Arsenal stunning double transfer deal will give Arteta exactly what he needs

There’s no doubt where Arsenal ’s transfer priorities lie in the upcoming summer transfer window.

After going without a recognised striker for the final months of the season, due to injuries, the club will be keen to bring a goalscorer to the club over the next few weeks. It’s something that they tried to address, unsuccessfully, in the January window, but ahead of the new season, getting it right has become even more important.

Big name strikers including Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Jonathan David have been linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The latest updates suggests that Arsenal could potentially complete a deal for not just one, but two of those targets.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has reported that Arsenal football director Andrea Berta is targeting both Sesko and Gyokeres. It is added that there has been recent talks between Berta and Red Bull Leipzig chief Marcel Schafer about a potential deal for Sesko.

Back in March it was reported that Ssko has a £62 million release clause in his contract. However, Leipzig reportedly ‘have to sell’ Sesko to generate income.

Sesko has been a long-term target for Arsenal and was linked with a move last summer. football.london understands that the club have continues to monitor the Slovenian over the season just gone.

Gyokeres is another player who Arsenal have been heavily linked with . It was claimed by Fabrizio Romano over the weekend that he had played his final game for Sporting, scoring in the Portuguese cup final victory over Benfica.

Sporting are said to have put a price of around £60 million on the striker this summer. But Arsenal face competition from Manchester United, with the player working under Ruben Amorim during the coach’s time at Sporting.

The deals for both Sesko and Gyokeres are describes at ‘very expensive’, meaning that it could be hard to get both over the line this summer. If Arsenal were to sign both is is likely to cost them over £120 million in transfer fees alone.

However, having struggled for options up front over the last season, suddenly having an array of options for the striker position would be an ideal scenario for Mikel Arteta as he looks to close the gap to the top of the table - bringing both Sesko and Gyokeres to the club would give him just that.
