Everton are prepared to make a 'big financial proposal' to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, reporting on his YouTube channel.
Adding a new centre-forward could be a major priority as we head towards the summer transfer window for Everton. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out of contract, while the Toffees have confirmed that Armando Broja will return to Chelsea following his loan spell at Goodison Park.
That leaves David Moyes with Beto and Youssef Chermiti as his striker options, but the latter has struggled to make an impact this season. A loan move might be best suited to Chermiti to allow him to gain regular first-team experience, which could leave Everton with just one striker heading into the new campaign.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has provided an update on Delap's future at Ipswich Town. The England youth international has a £30m relegation release clause, with a host of clubs interested, including Everton. The Toffees are prepared to make a 'big financial proposal' to try and convince him to make the move to Merseyside...
“Also because his future is basically in his hands, it’s not in Ipswich’s hands. Ipswich have this release clause, £30m for Liam Delap, available this summer, the player will go and so the player is now assessing all these options. Everton are prepared to make a big financial proposal to the player, then giving him maybe the possibility to leave the club in two or three years, something like that. For Everton, it would be a sensational signing, so he could be the face of the whole project."

Delap, described as 'phenomenal' by Ipswich teammate Jens Cajuste, was undoubtedly one of Ipswich's more important players this term, scoring 12 Premier League goals despite their relegation to the Championship. A departure feels inevitable due to his release clause, but it won't be easy for Everton to convince him, considering the other clubs interested.
The Toffees are likely to be able to offer him a guaranteed starting role in their new stadium, which they will undoubtedly be hoping will convince him to sign on the dotted line.
