Newcastle United playing in the Champions League next season will "deliver huge financial rewards for the city," according to the chief executive of NE1.
Stephen Patterson, who heads up the Business Improvement District company for the city centre, called the club's qualification a "fantastic end to an amazing season".
He added: "The Champions League isn't just about football—it's a game-changer for Newcastle's economy and local businesses.
"We are back in the top tier of European football and can't wait to play against teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich and welcome them and their supporters to the city and St James' Park next season.
"Champions League football will deliver huge financial rewards for the city and put Newcastle in the international spotlight."
