Liverpool can now boast two Premier League titles after an excellent campaign under Arne Slot.
The Dutchman finished ten points ahead of Arsenal in his first campaign in the Premier League, winning the title with relative ease as the Gunners fell away following injuries to Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
Now, Danny Murphy has told talkSPORT that he thinks Liverpool will win back-to-back Premier League titles for the first time ever next season, amid speculation involving Florian Wirtz.
Danny Murphy says Liverpool will retain the Premier League title if they sign Florian Wirtz
TBR Football understand Liverpool hope to sign Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen imminently – with the Reds happy to pay the £100m asking price.
The Germany international is expected to undergo a medical at Liverpool soon, with the Reds hopeful of the deal being wrapped up by the weekend.
If the move goes through, Murphy would be delighted.
The man who made 249 appearances for Liverpool told talkSPORT: “If Liverpool get Wirtz, it’s done (the title race). Have you seen him?! When I heard this was a possibility I found everything I could on him, because I was intrigued.
“He’s got lovely feet where he can dribble past people, but his passing is superb. He sees all these pictures… good finisher, gets in good positions. Some of the things he did, I was like, wow.”

Wirtz is not only an aesthetically pleasing footballer, but he is also highly efficient, recording 16 goals and 15 assists in 45 appearances last season, numbers that could even increase next season should he be playing alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Alexis Mac Allister.
Liverpool fans have one concern about the Florian Wirtz deal
It would be a hugely exciting move for the German to join the Reds.

However, Liverpool fans have a concern about Wirtz joining for such a large fee, as it most likely means a significant chunk of cash will not be spent on a new striker.
There is a need for a new No.9 at Anfield with Darwin Nunez likely to leave, and a clear over reliance on Salah to deliver last season.
Even if Wirtz arriving does prevent a new striker from being signed, the Bayer Leverkusen No.10 has previously made 11 appearances as a striker in his career, and 159 as a central attacking midfielder, so he knows how to operate well in these areas, and could even be used as a false nine by Slot next season.
