FC Barcelona have an excellent young squad at their disposal but what this usually means is that many of their players tend to be hot properties in the transfer market. Other clubs are looking at players they can potentially lure away from here.
While most players won’t always want to leave Barcelona, there are players in the current squad who deserve to be starters but aren’t at the moment due to a fierce competition for places. The chance to move elsewhere and be the protagonist is likely to be tempting in this case.
Two such players at Barcelona include Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres. The Spanish duo have been brilliant for the Catalan club this season, but aren’t the first choices in their positions despite being deserving of the same.

Now, as per Fichajes, Aston Villa have both players on their shortlist for the summer, apart from other names. Unai Emery’s side narrowly missed out on Champions League football for next season but will still play in Europe in the Europa League.
The Birmingham-based club are looking for a replacement for Marcus Rashford, who is set to return to Manchester United upon the expiry of his loan spell and see Ferran Torres as the ideal person to fill the void left by the Englishman.
Fermin Lopez on the other hand, is appreciated for his versatility and dynamism. In many ways, he is very similar to one of Villa’s own players, Morgan Rogers and the duo could wreak havoc in midfield if played together.
Key cogs for Hansi Flick

However, despite interest from the English club, the Spanish duo are likely to want to stay at Barcelona. Both players are important cogs in Hansi Flick’s team and the German coach is unlikely to let either play leave this summer.
While Aston Villa’s interest is notable, both Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez remain key assets in Hansi Flick’s plans for the upcoming season. As Barca aim to build on last year’s success, keeping hold of emerging talents like these will be crucial. Their continued development could prove vital to the club’s ambitions in 2025/26.
