TNT Sports pundits Rio Ferdinand and Ally McCoist were both on the same wavelength over one Manchester United first-team player’s campaign at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United’s 2024-25 season is finally over and the Red Devils endured a turbulent campaign at Old Trafford after a shocking run in the Premier League.
The Red Devils signed off the Premier League campaign in 15th place, with United only managing 11 wins from 38 matches and the club suffering 18 league defeats.
United failed to secure a place in the top half of the Premier League table or finish in a league position that would ensure European football for the 2025-26 campaign.
Ruben Amorim also missed out on his first piece of silverware as United manager and a route back to the Champions League for the Red Devils for next season.
United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final in Bilbao last Wednesday and 17th-place Spurs ensured their place back in Europe for the 2025-26 season.
The Red Devils managed to bounce back from their loss in the 2025 Europa League final at the San Mames Stadium, with United beating Aston Villa 2-0 on Sunday.
Amad Diallo and Christian Eriksen both netted in the second half and United secured three points against Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season.

Rio Ferdinand and Ally McCoist both drop same compliment on Bruno Fernandes’ season for Man Utd at Old Trafford
Bruno Fernandes was once again a standout performer in the Manchester United first-team squad and he impressed in the 2024-25 campaign at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old United captain ended the season by scoring 19 times and registering 20 assists in 57 matches for the Red Devils across all competitions.
Bruno Fernandes scooped the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year after another impactful season for United and showed his major influence for Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has made his feelings clear that the Portugal and United midfielder is a key part of his plans going forward at Old Trafford amid fierce transfer interest.
Fernandes inked a new United contract last summer and the Portugal international is now tied down to the Premier League club until 2027.
However, the Red Devils skipper’s future at Old Trafford has been cast in doubt in recent weeks and Saudi Pro League Al Hilal is reportedly keen on signing Fernandes.
Rio Ferdinand and Ally McCoist appeared on TNT Sports and both pundits didn’t think twice about naming Fernandes as United’s ‘Player of the Year’ for the season.

Bruno Fernandes breaks silence on Man Utd’s 2024-25 campaign after the Aston Villa win in the Premier League at Old Trafford
Speaking after Sunday’s 2-0 result against Aston Villa, Bruno Fernandes admitted that United showed they could have done a lot better with their performances this season.
“Obviously, I think more than the win is the performance that we put in,” he told MUTV, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“You could see the team playing football with great personality, showing off all the qualities that we have and all the things that we have been working on during the season.
“It was easy today for us to do that because we were not playing for anything in this game in particular.
“We gave off a different image, and a different image during this campaign.”
United will now begin their post-season tour on Wednesday and Amorim’s men face ASEAN All-Stars in a friendly at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Malaysia.
