Liverpool bid farewell to Caoimhin Kelleher on Sunday as they lifted the Premier League trophy in front of 60,000 supporters at Anfield.
The Reds have had a wonderful season but it’s easy to forget how good the Northern Irish goalkeeper was when Alisson Becker was injured earlier in the season.
Kelleher made 10 appearances while Alisson was recovering from a tricky hamstring injury and so he more than earned his league medal this season.
The 26-year-old is now heading off to follow his goal of being a starting goalkeeper with no shortage of clubs assessing him ahead of the summer trasnsfer window.
After full-time at Anfield on Sunday, Kelleher was interviewed on the pitch and gave a little insight into what his plans for the summer will be with Giorgi Mamardashvili arriving from Valencia to replace him.
The Liverpool goalkeeper told Optus Sport: “I think I’ve said it before as well that like, I feel like I’m a number one and I feel like I’m good enough to play week in, week out.
“That’s what I’m looking to do. Obviously this season I was lucky enough to play a lot of games… but yeah, definitely something I’m looking at.”

According to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Brentford “are well-versed on options available to them” with Caoimhin Kelleher and Burnley shotstopper James Trafford on their list.
Newcastle United are also “considering” Kelleher, who Liverpool have reportedly placed a £30 million askling price on.

Mamardashvili is arriving this summer fresh off a season with Valencia that saw the La Liga outfit finish just six points above the relegation zone.
While that may be alarming for some, if it wasn’t for Mamardashvili’s efforts, it’s not unreasonable to say Valencia would have been relegated so their fans may be very grateful Kelleher didn’t leave last summer otherwise their Georgian goalkeeper might not have been around to play a crucial role in their La Liga redemption story.
