Inter Milan plotting move for Manchester United star

Manchester United are still reeling from a disappointing end to the season, with no European football on the horizon and a summer clear-out looming.

Ruben Amorim has reportedly handed the club a shortlist of targets, but outgoings will need to fund much of the planned rebuild.

The Red Devils have already been linked with multiple striker options to ease the burden on their current No. 11, who carried the attack in patches throughout the campaign.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, United are assessing bids for several first-team players, with some of their younger assets now attracting interest from the continent.

And one of those players is now being eyed by a European giant that once came close to landing him.

Reports from Italy claim Inter Milan are pushing hard to sign Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

According to InterLive, the Serie A giants are reviving their long-standing interest in the Danish forward, dating back to his Atalanta days.

At the time, Inter were reportedly priced out of a move when United swooped in with a bigger offer to bring Rasmus Hojlund to Old Trafford.

However, after a mixed first season in England, the Italian side now believe a deal can finally be struck.

The report adds that Inter’s management, head coach Simone Inzaghi, and new Oaktree ownership are all aligned on pursuing Hojlund.

They are said to view him as a long-term solution up front, with the player’s €4 million wage demands well within their budget.

Inter are considering an initial loan with an option—or even obligation—to buy, depending on performance clauses.

And crucially, they believe United may be willing to accept a lower fee than publicly estimated due to financial pressure and their failure to qualify for Europe.

This scenario could tempt United into letting Hojlund go sooner than expected, especially if Amorim pushes for a new forward.

Despite his inconsistent season, Inter still believe in the 21-year-old’s potential and are ready to reignite the chase.

United now face a decision that could shape their attack for years to come.
