Knicks Told to Go After Suns Superstar, Trade Current All-Star

The New York Knicks currently find themselves in a 2-1 hole in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.

New York dropped the first two games of the series at home before they were able to complete 20-point comeback in Game 3 in Indianapolis on Sunday night.

Now the Knicks will look to tie the series up in Tuesday’s Game 4 before the series shifts back to Madison Square Garden.

If this ends up not happening and the Knicks end up being eliminated by the Pacers, they may have some tough decisions to make in the offseason regarding their roster.

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd recently named what he believes the Knicks should do this offseason and it involves both Karl-Anthony Towns and Kevin Durant.

“So, I would move off a talented, erratic KAT,” Cowherd said. “They need KD because you’re going to get KAT’s points and he can play complimentary basketball with Jalen Brunson.”

This is a bold take by Cowherd, especially after the Knicks went out and traded for Towns last season but he also makes a compelling point.

Towns has struggled at times in the playoffs, especially on the defensive side of the ball as he has been a liability at times for New York.

Because of this, Cowherd believes that they should trade away Towns to add Durant in the offseason due to Durant providing more for the team that Towns can.

While that may be the case, Towns is much younger than Durant and looks as though to be a key piece of the Knicks’ future though Durant’s addition would be a solid one next to Brunson and the rest of New York’s lineup.

Despite this, New York may not be interested in moving on from Towns after one season, especially to add an aging Durant in the final part of his career.
