Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly been handed a 72-hour transfer deadline by Al-Hilal after receiving a lucrative three-year contract offer from the Saudi Pro League giants.

Fernandes, 30, has been offered the chance to increase his weekly earnings to an eye-watering €834,000 and he stands to earn roughly €240 million across a three-year deal.

However, Al-Hilal have informed the Portugal international that he must make a final decision on whether to accept their offer by Thursday, according to The Daily Mail" href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14753541/Bruno-Fernandes-72-HOURS-decide-quit-Man-United-Al-Hilal-Saudi.html" target="_blank">The Daily Mail and Ben Jacobs" href="https://www.givemesport.com/manchester-united-transfer-news-bruno-fernandes-handed-deadline-make-decision-old-trafford/" target="_blank">Ben Jacobs.

Fernandes’ representatives have been locked in negotiations with Al-Hilal for some time and the Saudi Arabian club have now presented their final ‘take it or leave it offer.’

The 30-year-old only has two years remaining on his current Man Utd contract and Al-Hilal are willing to pay a whopping €120m to sign him this summer, meaning the overall cost of Fernandes’ proposed move to Saudi Arabia could reach €360m, when including his transfer fee and wages.

Ruben Amorim wants to keep Bruno Fernandes

News of Al-Hilal’s transfer deadline follows Amorim’s recent admission that he wants Fernandes to reject interest from Saudi Arabia in order to remain at Man Utd for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to reporters on Man Utd’s post-season tour of Asia, Amorim admitted" href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2025/05/man-utd-transfer-news-bruno-fernandes-ruben-amorim-saudi-arabia-al-hilal-summer-2025" target="_blank">Speaking to reporters on Man Utd’s post-season tour of Asia, Amorim admitted: “You can see by the performance, the leadership, the passion he [Fernandes] has for the games. So it is really important, especially in these kinds of moments.

“You could see that in the last game [versus Aston Villa]. I felt that the team was without pressure; they performed quite well and everybody wanted the ball.

“The team has different moments and in different moments, Bruno is the one who really wants to take responsibility.

“He should be because he is the captain, so he's really important for us and really important for what we want to build with this team.”
