Chelsea are surely going to sign a new striker this summer. Nicolas Jackson had a good start to this season. But, he once again failed to materialize. On the other hand, Marc Guiu is still very young and will be likely sent on loan to improve. As a result, Enzo Maresca has felt a need to add another number nine.
The Blues are keen to stick with their policy of signing young player. But, Maresca has asked the board to sign some experienced players. As a result, the West London club have been linked with multiple strikers across whole Europe. They have now sorted 4 names ahead of summer window.
Chelsea have 4 strikers on their wishlist
According to Ben Jacobs, the Blues have 4 names – Benjamin Sesko, Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres on their striker wishlist. He added that Chelsea want to move quickly in the market to secure a new number nine. All of these striker are wanted by other Premier League clubs too.
Firstly, Delap will be available for £30 million this summer. He is also wanted by Man United but they will not play in UCL next season. In addition, the 22 year old is also wanted by Newcastle United and Everton as well as some other non-English clubs.
As for Ekitike, Frankfurt want around £80 million for him. The German giants are keen to keep him and hence paying high fee will be the only option to sign him. He is also wanted by Liverpool.
Sesko and Gyokeres are both top striker targets for Arsenal. Chelsea have shown interest in Sesko multiple times. He will cost €80 million as per his newly set release clause. The Blues have not made any fresh contact for Gyokeres but the Sweden international can be signed on discount for around €70 million.
