Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak will be missing from Sweden’s upcoming international friendlies against Hungary and Algeria.
That’s [according to Aftonbladet](https://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/fotboll/a/PpJKJ7/alexander-isak-missar-landslagets-samling), who report that Isak has been left out of the group for the friendlies despite playing in Newcastle’s final day defeat to Everton.
They explain that the Swedish FA have announced that the Newcastle star will be missing from the two games in June, with Jordan Larsson and Gustaf Nilsson called up as replacements.
They say the striker has had groin problems in recent weeks. They do not say that is the direct cause of his absence.
That injury, though, did cause him to sit out of the big meeting with Arsenal before playing the entire match against Everton on Sunday. That has seemingly caused further problems, and he has now pulled out of the international group.
That will see him miss a trip to Hungary on June 6th before a home clash against Algeria four days earlier. He’s been replaced by Larsson, who has been scoring goals for FC Copenhagen, and Nilsson, who plays for Club Brugge.
