Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been in the news constantly since the team traded up in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select him with the No. 144 overall pick. He will either be the new franchise quarterback for the team or will be a major disappointment.
Since the draft, Sanders has been constantly in the news. This week, another story came out about him that went viral.
It had been reported that Sanders bought a new Rolls-Royce worth $500,000. That would have been worth more than his entire signing bonus with the Browns. However, that story turns out to not be true.
Following the story going viral, Sanders has taken to social media to clap back at the report. He made it clear that he did not buy the vehicle.

"Another lie.... I'm focused on my team not a car purchase," he wrote on X.
His dad, the legendary Deion Sanders, also spoke out against the report in his own social media post.
Sanders has looked good so far during the limited time he has had to show off his arm in Cleveland. He will be competing with four other quarterbacks for playing time during the upcoming 2025 NFL season.
Outside of Sanders, the Browns have Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Deshaun Watson on the roster. Watson seems highly unlikely to play in Cleveland again, but Flacco, Pickett, and Gabriel will be stiff competition.

Throughout the pre-draft process and since, Sanders has been heavily in the media. There are some who think he will start at some point in 2025, while others have predicted that he won't even make the roster. He has an opportunity to silence all of his critics.
After sliding to the fifth round following the expectation that he would be a first or second round pick, Sanders also has a chip on his shoulder. He lost a lot of money with that slide, but the opportunity he has received gives him a chance to play and become the player that he was expected to be.
Only time will tell, but Sanders is focused on the task at hand. He made that clear with his post about the Rolls-Royce situation. It's all about football for him now.
In the meantime, the media is sure to continue talking about Sanders without end.
