Manchester United find themselves in a difficult situation at the end of the season, heading into the summer transfer window given how the Premier League campaign has gone.

The Red Devils have ended in 15th place in the Premier League, with no European football next year, limiting their potential revenue for next year.

As such, the club are having to consider all options this summer, whether that be selling off some key players, or retaining some of their formerly unwanted stars.

The latter is where United now find themselves with regards to Marcus Rashford.

Rashford found himself sent out on loan to Aston Villa in the winter transfer window as the 28-year-old’s relationship hit rock bottom with new manager Ruben Amorim.

Villa negotiated a £40 million option to buy as part of the loan, however their lack of Champions League football next season leaves them unlikely to trigger the clause, with Rashford having already bid farewell to his temporary club.

Manchester United to retain Marcus Rashford

Now, with Rashford back at Old Trafford, Give Me Sport has reported that Ruben Amorim is set to meet with Jason Wilcox, Omar Berrada and the recruitment team, where Rashford’s future will be a key point on the agenda.

Since moving to Villa Park, Rashford has registered four goals and six assists in 17 games and reclaimed his spot in the England squad.

As such, his return to form has been evident and United could well make a U-turn on their decision to sell him if they feel they can retain his current form.

This would require Amorim and Rashford to make amends after the breakdown in their relationship, which saw the England international routinely dropped from the squad.
