Big Liam Delap transfer development will intrigue Everton

Having spoken with multiple clubs, it is believed Delap was really impressed with Everton’s pitch over a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

But the competition is fierce to secure his signature and the battle is only getting more intense.

According to Ben Jacobs, foreign clubs have now entered the race to sign Delap over the last 48 hours.

Chelsea have Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyökeres on their shortlist for a new number nine. They want to move quickly to secure a new striker.

Delap is expected to decide on his next club this week with Manchester United and Chelsea really keen to land the youngster.

Newcastle and Everton are also well within the race, but all are left eagerly awaiting his decision as they are all willing to meet his £30m release clause.

Although European football would be a bonus, it is now claimed Delap wants the right fit when deciding his next club with regular minutes essential.

Following his impressive season at Portman Road, the Englishman will be targeting a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Delap could play for England at 2026 World Cup

Jarrad Branthwaite is battling for an England call-up following his initial disappointment in the early spell of Tuchel’s tenure.

However, an opening is definitely there for Delap to grab with both hands over the coming year.

In the latest England squad announcement, Tuchel called up the following strikers:

Harry Kane

Ivan Toney

Ollie Watkins

With Toney playing his football in the Saudi Pro League, there is a good chance that his spot in the current squad could be up for grabs over the coming months.

In order to do so, Delap will need to continue playing regular football, which is something Everton could certainly offer him.
