ESPN pundit now agrees with what Pep Guardiola recently said about Jack Grealish at Man City

The future of Jack Grealish at Man City is up in the air ahead of the summer transfer window.

The winger has experienced a very tough season at the Etihad Stadium as the 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Manchester club, and it looks like there is no way back for the Englishman, with Ally McCoist one of many to tell Grealish to leave.

After Man City’s win over Fulham on Sunday, Grealish’s future became a little clearer after Pep Guardiola went on a small rant about the winger, with his words suggesting his time may be up in Manchester.

“The last two months, a month and a half, there were five or six players at home every time and this time I decided for these guys. No more than that,” Guardiola told the press via ESPN.

“Of course, Jack has to play. He’s an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. It didn’t happen this season and last season either. He needs to do it. With us or another place. It’s a question for Jack, his agent and the club.”

Zat Knight agrees that Jack Grealish needs to play every week

Having heard Guardiola’s words regarding Grealish, former Aston Villa star Zat Knight has agreed with the Man City boss and thinks the midfielder should leave the Etihad Stadium in order to play every week.

“I think with Jack, he’s a type of player, because he’s such a flair player. He wants to get on the ball. I think it’s right what Pep said, he has to play week in, week out,” Knight said on ESPN FC.

“He can’t just be a bit part player, because he needs a rhythm, and obviously he hasn’t had any rhythm. So the way he is right now, when he’s coming in and playing one game a month, you’re not seeing the best Jack.

“He needs to be playing twice a week, if it’s a Tuesday, and a Saturday or Sunday, whatever day it is, he needs to find some rhythm to his game, and obviously, not getting selected, he’s not finding rhythm, and the small part he is playing. It’s not good enough.”

With the 2026 World Cup taking place at the end of next season, minutes will be important for every player, therefore, Grealish is expected to leave Man City this summer.

Several clubs are showing interest in Grealish, however, it remains to be seen where the winger ends up ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

What clubs are showing interest in Jack Grealish

When it comes to interest in Grealish, certain clubs have shown long-term interest in the 29-year-old, with his former team, Aston Villa, said to be keen, while Tottenham and Newcastle have looked before.

AC Milan are also among the interested parties, and this is a move that could interest Grealish, should he want to get out of England, with Gary Neville recently advising the Man City star to move abroad to continue his career.

It remains to be seen if any of these clubs make an official move for the winger this summer, and if they arrive with a reasonable offer, they should have no problem landing the 29-year-old for the new season.
