Benjamin Sesko has given Chelsea and Arsenal an insight into how he will make a decision on his future in the summer transfer window.

The RB Leipzig striker appears destined to leave in the coming months having enjoyed another reputation enhancing campaign for the Bundesliga club.

Sesko came close to departing 12 months ago but opted to remain with Leipzig and sign a new contract.

The Slovenia international wanted a guarantee of regular first team football and was reported to have feared that would be unlikely at Arsenal given the form and status of the club’s highest earner Kai Havertz.

Arsenal are likely to revisit their interest in the 21-year-old in the coming weeks while they mull over whether to make a move for him or Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.

The Gunners are unlikely to get a free run at Sesko, however, despite having laid much of the groundwork for his potential signing already.

Chelsea are also in the market for a new centre forward and their hopes of landing a marquee target were given a major boost when they secured Champions League qualification last weekend.

Leipzig are now in Brazil, where they will play an end-of-season friendly against Santos, and Sesko has now addressed his future during an interview with German broadcaster Sport1 in South America.

He said: ‘The club has given me a lot and continues to give me a lot every day. It’s a great club to develop at.’

Sesko also added that in the future, he wants to ‘”‘play for a club that suits me, that brings out the best in me. That’s the most important thing for me.’

He continued: ‘I’m currently a player for RB Leipzig, so I’m taking it day by day. If a transfer happens, and if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.’
