Andre Onana’s troubled season at Manchester United has continued to draw criticism, with high-profile errors costing the team points throughout the campaign.
His inconsistent form led Ruben Amorim to drop him for United’s recent 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Amorim instead, handed a rare start to Altay Bayindir, who impressed with a somewhat composed performance.
Onana’s role remains under serious scrutiny heading into the summer, with the situation unsustainable if United are to compete at the top.
That backdrop has seen United explore multiple goalkeeping options.
One of their targets could be heading to the Premier League, but to a club competing in Europe next season.
Aston Villa open talks with Lille’s Lucas Chevalier
According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa have opened talks with Lucas Chevalier as they look to replace Emiliano Martinez, who has told the club he wants to leave this summer.
Chevalier, currently with LOSC Lille, has been made Villa’s priority target by sporting director Monchi, who is already negotiating with the player’s agents regarding wage demands.
While no formal offer has been submitted yet, initial discussions have taken place and the 23-year-old is believed to be open to a move to the Premier League.

Chevalier has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest young goalkeepers, keeping 11 clean sheets this season and reportedly on the radar of Manchester United, Barcelona, and other top clubs.
United’s interest in the Frenchman was fuelled by his performances and long-term potential, but they may now face stiff competition if Villa accelerate talks.
With European football secured for next season and a growing project under Unai Emery, Villa are hoping to convince Chevalier that his future lies at Villa Park.
For United, missing out on the Lille star could prove significant as they attempt to resolve a goalkeeping dilemma that’s loomed over them all season.
