Jorginho has announced his exit from Arsenal
Jorginho has announced his exit from Arsenal, just over two years after joining the Gunners from Chelsea. The Italian midfielder joined the Gunners in the January 2023 transfer window.
He famously scored a 93rd minute winner against Aston Villa in his first season with Mikel Arteta's side. The midfielder made 79 appearances in total, scoring two goals.
He was also handed the captain's armband on occassion by boss Arteta. But he has seen his game-time dwindle since the summer of 2023 when Declan Rice was brought in for a club-record £100million.
Rice, captain Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey have since formed the Gunners' first-choice midfield trio. Jorginho has long been linked with a departure when his contract runs out this summer, with a move to South America the most likely outcome.
