“NFL’s Most Complete Edge Rushers”: PFF Ranks Green Bay Packers Rashan Gary In Top 32 Edge…

The Green Bay Packers pass rushing department was a weakness on the team during the 2024 NFL season. Rashan Gary was the top edge rusher on the team, and he underachieved in 2024.

Gary and the entire unit will need to improve during the 2025 NFL season if they want to have better results on the defensive line. Green Bay did not address the defensive line during the 2025 NFL Draft during the early rounds. Where does Gary rank on pro football focus amongst the top edge rushers in the NFL?

Pro football focus writer Ryan Smith created his top 32 edge rushers list in the NFL entering the 2025 NFL season. He had the Packers edge rusher ranked 19th in his latest rankings. This comes as a little surprising considering the down year Gary had in 2025. Smith said,

“Gary’s PFF overall grade has declined in each of the past three seasons after peaking at 89.8 in 2021, but he remains one of the NFL’s most complete edge defenders, and he’s still just 27 years old. The former Michigan Wolverine has also proven durable, not missing a game over the past two seasons.”

Gary during the 2024 NFL season with the Packers recorded 47 tackles, 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass deflection. He led the team in sacks during the 2024 NFL season. Gary is going to need to have a better 2025 season if Green Bay wants to be better on the defensive line and also climb up the pro football focus rankings as well. If the entire defensive line unit wants to perform better, it will start with Gary leading the way.
