Championship midfielder now ‘expected to leave’ with Everton waiting in the wings

David Moyes will be ecstatic with the recent news coming out of the Championship, as Everton can now act.

Everton can kick off proceedings in the transfer window soon, with the doors opening on June 1st.

The new look window will then close on the 10th due to the Club World Cup, and then once more will come to life on June 16th.

Moyes will be hoping to get his transfers sorted early on and will be doing this sustainably.

Everton target Gustavo Hamer now expected to leave in fresh update

The Toffees will know a clear overhaul is needed, and that was made clear with The Friedkin Group being ruthless in contract negotiations.

This saw the exit of Abdoulaye Doucoure, who will need to be replaced after five solid seasons at the club.

Moyes will be after a creative outlet in the heart of his midfield, and he can get exactly that through Gustavo Hamer.

Hamer who has been called ‘outstanding’, is on Everton’s radar this summer, and now a fresh update has given this transfer some legs.

talkSPORT suggests that Hamer is expected to leave Sheffield United after they lost in the play-off final to Sunderland, as Jordan Pickford’s boyhood club returned to the top flight after nine seasons.

Leeds United will battle Everton in signing Hamer, who also won the Championship Player of the Year, and interest will no doubt be heightened now with Blades chiefs ‘resigned to losing’ the 27-year-old.

With Moyes liking a possession game, it’s integral that he creates the perfect middle three in the top flight next season.

There has been plenty of chopping and changing with a plethora of options available to Moyes, but he will know he needs improvement.

Balance will be the key to Moyes’ plans, but with Carlos Alcaraz in talks to join permanently, there is set to be competition between the Argentine and Hamer.

But going off the options and Everton signing Hamer, the midfield three speaks for itself.

CM Idrissa Gana Gueye

CM James Garner

CAM Gustavo Hamer

Although there are doubts over Garner at Everton, this is the best way to provide balance for Moyes’ system.

Gueye will do the defensive duties, Garner will provide the box-to-box duties, and Hamer will do what he does best in creating.

Keeping hold of Gueye is pivotal in this working though, as Gueye staying looks uncertain.

But if everything added up, Hamer would add a different level of quality, which Everton could achieve brilliant things with.
